The Night Agent fans have two reasons to celebrate. Netflix not only released the first official photos from the upcoming second season, the streamer announced the popular spy drama has been renewed for a third season.
Season two is targeting a winter 2025 premiere. Filming’s expected to begin on season three in Istanbul later this year. Production on the just-announced 10-episode third season will move to New York early next year.
The first season earned Netflix’s most-watched series of 2023 title and raked in more than 98 million views in its first 91 days. It currently stands as the streamer’s seventh most-watched English series.
“Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent, Peter Sutherland, whose efforts to save The President in season one earn him an opportunity to become a Night Agent in season two,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “But working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.”
Gabriel Basso stars as Peter Sutherland, Luciane Buchanan plays Rose Larkin, and Amanda Warren is Catherine. Shawn Ryan (The Shield) created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include David Beaubaire, Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, Nicole Tossou, James Vanderbilt, and Project X Entertainment’s Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn. Exhibit A Films’ Marney Hochman, Paul Bernard, Munis Rashid, and Guy Ferland also executive produce.
“We’re so excited that our fans will get to watch season two of The Night Agent in early 2025, and we’ve been hard at work writing season three to deliver more breathless Peter Sutherland Night Action adventures to our rabid audience,” stated Shawn Ryan.
