The official trailer for Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction (the series inspired by the film) begins with the man at the heart of the love triangle attending a parole hearing after serving time for second-degree murder. He addresses a panel of judges and explains he’s been fixated on discovering why he did what he did and why Alexandra Forrest died.
Additional scenes show what Daniel thought was going to be just a one-night stand transitioning into something much more dangerous. Brief clips show Alexandra pursuing Daniel, and even showing up at his home. The trailer ends with Daniel proclaiming his innocence and swearing he’s going to prove he’s not a murderer.
Fatal Attraction stars Joshua Jackson as Dan Gallagher, Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, and Amanda Peet as Beth Gallagher. The cast also includes Alyssa Jirrels as Ellen Gallagher, Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Reno Wilson as Detective Earl Brooker, and Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson.
Dirty John‘s Alexandra Cunningham guides the series as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Kevin J. Hynes shares a co-story credit with Cunningham and also executive produces along with Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Executive producer Silver Tree directed five episodes.
The 1987 film was directed by Adrian Lyne and starred Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, and Anne Archer. The R-rated drama was nominated for six Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actress (Close), and Best Supporting Actress (Archer).
The Fatal Attraction Plot:
The all-new series is a deep dive reimagining of the 1980s cultural touchstone Fatal Attraction through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics, and murder. In the present day, after serving 15 years in prison for the murder of Alexandra Forrest (Caplan), Daniel Gallagher (Jackson) is paroled with the goals of reconnecting with his family and proving his innocence.
In 2008, Dan first meets Alex and his world begins to unravel after their brief affair threatens to destroy the life he’s built with his wife, Beth (Peet).
The first three episodes will premiere on Sunday, April 30, 2023 on Paramount+. Additional episodes of the eight-episode season will stream on Sundays. The season wraps up n Sunday, May 28.
