Roadside Attractions released the first official teaser trailer for The Last Showgirl, a drama that earned critical praise during its festival run. Critics are calling Pamela Anderson’s performance powerful and vulnerable, with the film sitting at 81% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes ahead of its theatrical release.
In addition to Anderson, the cast features Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Dave Bautista (The Killer’s Game), Brenda Song (Station 19), Kiernan Shipka (Totally Killer), and Billie Lourd (American Horror Story). Gia Coppola directed from a screenplay by Kate Gersten, with Coppola, Robert Schwartzman, and Natalie Farrey serving as producers.
Miley Cyrus sings “Beautiful That Way” on the soundtrack, an original song written by Cyrus, Oscar nominee Andrew Wyatt, and Lykke Li.
“The Last Showgirl, a poignant film of resilience, rhinestones and feathers, stars Pamela Anderson as Shelly, a glamorous showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run,” reads Roadside Attractions’ synopsis.
The Last Showgirl opens in theaters on January 10, 2025.
