MTV’s VMAs are in their Taylor Swift era, with the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter looking to take home the Video of the Year award for the third year in a row. Swift scored 10 Video Music Awards nominations, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Direction, Best Pop, Best Collaboration, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction.
Swift’s “Fortnite” collaborator Post Malone was close behind with nine nominations. Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, and Ariana Grande each earned six, and Megan Thee Stallion and SZA picked up five nominations. Teddy Swims and Olivia Rodrigo were recognized with four nominations each. And 29 artists earned their first VMAs nominations this year.
Voting is now open at vote.mtv.com in 15 gender-neutral categories. This year’s VMAs will take place at the UBS Arena in New York on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
