Oxygen’s hoping to top the record-breaking numbers of the true-crime series’ second season with season three of The Real Murders of Atlanta. More than 9.5 million viewers checked out season two, up 8% from the show’s first season.
The documentary series premiered in January 2022, followed by season two in March 2023. Season three will premiere on August 17, 2024, with new episodes airing on Saturdays at 9pm ET/PT. Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch, David Hale, and Dan Messina serve as executive producers.
“The Real Murders of Atlanta digs deep into the crimes that robbed the vibrant city and surrounding area of some of its most cherished citizens and features those with direct connections to the cases,” reads Oxygen’s synopsis. “Victims’ loved ones, case investigators, witnesses, and detectives give firsthand accounts of the lives and movements of the deceased and the intensity of the efforts to bring their killers to justice. Each episode this season explores cases that have shaken the Atlanta community involving local celebrities, suburban residents, and heartbroken families.”
