Nicholas Denton (Dangerous Liaisons) has been cast in a starring role in AMC’s Anne Rice’s The Talamasca (the working title). According to the announcement, Denton will star as Guy Anatole in the six-episode season set to begin filming in Manchester, England in October 2024.
AMC offered this description of the series and Denton’s character: “[Guy] is brilliant, handsome and sharp on the surface, but he’s always known his mind works a little differently. On the cusp of graduating law school, he is approached by a representative of the Talamasca, a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world. When Guy learns that the Talamasca has been tracking him since his childhood, he falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world. But for that balance to hold, and for Guy to survive, he will have to learn to embrace the dark, treacherous depths of his true and singular self.”
AMC Networks is targeting a 2025 premiere on AMC and AMC+.
Oscar nominee John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and Mark Lafferty (Halt and Catch Fire) are on board as co-showrunners and executive producers. Mark Johnson, who oversees the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, will also serve as an executive producer, with Hancock directing.
The Talamsca is the third series in the network’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe to go into production. Interview with the Vampire starring Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid premiered in October 2022. Mayfair Witches with Alexandra Daddario debuted in January 2023.
Nicholas Denton’s credits include Jones Family Christmas, Glitch, Utopia, and My Life Is Murder.
