Peacock official teaser for the upcoming thriller Teacup features a montage of clips that don’t come close to giving anything away. And in keeping with the spoiler-free dictate, Peacock’s synopsis reads: “Teacup follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.”
Of course, those who’ve read Stinger by Robert McCammon know what the “mysterious threat” is. But for everyone else, the less you know going in, the better.
The eight-episode season stars Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, and Boris McGiver. Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux also star in the horror thriller set to premiere on October 10, 2024 with the release of the first two episodes.
Two new episodes will follow weekly on Thursdays.
Ian McCulloch serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include author Robert McCammon, Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tancharoen, and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett. E.L. Katz directed the first two episodes and also executive produces.
“After reading Robert McCammon’s book Stinger, the entire team at Atomic Monster felt a spark. The story had all the ingredients for a captivating series and Ian McCulloch had a vision to bring it to life in a fresh way that was both startling and darkly atmospheric, but filled with a rich sense of humanity — often lacking in edgy narratives,” stated James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious). “Add in our incredibly talented cast led by Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer and fans are in for a true edge-of-your-seat experience.”
