Production is currently underway on Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender season two, and the streamer just announced new additions to the cast. The eight actors round out the ensemble of the much-anticipated second season of the fantasy series.
Per Netflix, the new cast and characters are:
o Chin Han (Mortal Kombat) as “Long Feng”
o Hoa Xuande (The Sympathizer) as “Professor Zei”
o Justin Chien (The Brothers Sun) as “King Kuei”
o Amanda Zhou (The Handmaid’s Tale) as “Joo Dee”
o Crystal Yu (Doctor Who) as “Lady Beifong”
o Kelemete Misipeka (Sons of Thunder) as “The Boulder”
o Lourdes Faberes (The Sandman) as “General Sung”
o Rekha Sharma (Yellowjackets) as “Amita”
“A live-action reimagining of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series following Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire and Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
The newcomers join a cast that includes Gordon Cormier as Aang, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Kiawentiio as Katara, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, and Dallas Liu as Crown Prince Zuko. Miya Cech plays Toph, Elizabeth Yu is Azula, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is Iroh, Momona Tamada is Ty Lee, and Thalia Tran is Mai.
The live-action series is inspired by the Nickelodeon animated show. Christine Boylan, Jabbar Raisani, Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, Brendan Ferguson, and Albert Kim serve as executive producers.
