Here’s the deal. If you watch the new Slow Horses season four trailer and are already a fan of the series, it’ll make you impatient for September 4, 2024. If you haven’t checked out the series, the trailer will convince you to immediately binge the first three seasons on Apple TV+. It’s that effective.
The critically acclaimed spy series stars Oscar winner Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, leader of the “rejects.” Oscar nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, BAFTA Scotland Award-winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Oscar nominee Jonathan Pryce are also back for the upcoming fourth season. Newcomers to the Slow Horses world include SAG winner Hugo Weaving, BAFTA winner Joanna Scanlan, IFTA winner Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, and James Callis.
The series is based on Mick Herron’s Slough House books, with season four adapted from Herron’s fourth novel of the series, Spook Street. Apple TV+ has already announced the series will return for a fifth season to be based on the fifth novel, London Rules.
Will Smith (from Veep, not the actor) adapted Herron’s work and serves as an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Jane Robertson, Julian Stevens, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, and Graham Yost. Adam Randall directed the fourth season, and See-Saw Films produced the series.
“Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House,” reads Apple TV+’s synopsis. “Season four opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking the already unstable foundations of Slough House.”
New episodes of the six-episode season stream on Wednesdays beginning September 4th. The season four finale is set for October 9th.
