Andor Season 2 Poster

Lucasfilm’s Andor season two teases the battle in store with the release of an extended trailer. The minute-long trailer begins with Cassian declaring that The Empire cannot win and ends with “Welcome to The Rebellion.” In between, we catch a glimpse of Mon Mothma’s speech: “We must stand together, or we will be crushed.”

In addition to the new trailer, Disney+ released a season two poster and a 14-minute recap of the first season (embedded below).

Diego Luna stars as Cassian Andor, Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Denise Gough as Dedra Meero, Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, and Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen. Faye Marsay plays Vel Sartha, Varada Sethu is Cinta Kaz, Elizabeth Dulau is Kleya Marki, Alan Tudyk is K-2SO, Ben Mendelsohn is Orson Krennic, and Forest Whitaker is Saw Gerrera.

“The second season of Andor takes place as the horizon of war draws near, and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested, and as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices, and conflicting agendas will become profound,” reads Disney+’s synopsis. “Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film.

Andor sets the clock back five years from the events of Rogue One to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.”

The second and final season premieres on April 22, 2025 with the release of the first of four chapters. New chapters of the 12-episode season arrive over the following weeks.

Tony Gilroy created the series, wrote the first three season two episodes, and serves as an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Diego Luna, Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Luke Hull, and John Gilroy. Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy, and Tom Bissell wrote three episodes each. Season two’s directors are Ariel Kleiman (episodes 1-6), Janus Metz (episodes 7-9), and Alonso Ruizpalacios (episodes 10-12).
