The Boys‘ Jack Quaid’s a superhero of sorts in Novocaine, an action comedy from directors Dan Berk and Robert Olsen (Significant Other). The Super Bowl spot shows Quaid’s character never flinching when he gets beat up, is shot, or when he takes an arrow to the leg.
Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, Lou Beatty Jr., Evan Hengst, Conrad Kemp, and Jacob Batalon also star. Lars Jacobson wrote the screenplay, and Drew Simon, Tory Tunnell, Joby Harold, Sam Speiser, Matt Schwartz, and Julian Rosenberg serve as producers. Executive producers include Paul Barbeau, Glen Basner, Josh Adler, Lars Jacobson, and Alison Cohen.
“When the girl of his dreams (Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped, everyman Nate (Jack Quaid) turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected strength in his fight to get her back,” reads Paramount’s synopsis.
Novocaine opens in theaters on March 14, 2025.
