They’re back…sort of. Hulu’s reviving Dance Moms with a reboot titled Dance Moms: A New Era. The 2024 take on the reality series will feature a new coach and new dancers.
However, the streamer promises A New Era will serve up “mama drama,” just like the original series.
“Dance Moms: A New Era is a reboot of the ever so popular Dance Moms,” reads Hulu’s synopsis. “Introducing beloved dance coach, Glo Hampton, who wants to take her students and prestigious dance school Studio Bleu to the next level – competing nationally every week. But the road to glory won’t be an easy one. Coach Glo must juggle her tiny but mighty dancers, their scheming moms, and ensuing meltdowns, all while ruling with a tender but tough iron fist. Will Glo and her dance team persevere amidst the dramatics?”
The 10-episode season premieres on Hulu on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Dance Moms‘ Bryan Stinson returns as an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Kimberly Chessler, Brie Miranda Bryant, Sharon Scott, Steve Ascher, Kristy Sabat, Allie Breslin, and Natalie Feldman.
The original series premiered in July 2011 and starred Abby Lee Miller, founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC). The series helped launch the careers of dancers Maddie Ziegler, JoJo Siwa, and Chloé Lukasiak.
