‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Teaser Trailer and Photos

HBO’s House of the Dragon season two teaser trailer opens with Otto Hightower admitting errors were made immediately following King Viserys’ death. The kingdom’s being torn apart by conflict between those who support the Greens and those who stand with the Blacks. And Alicent Hightower warns, “The war will be fought, many will die, and the victor will eventually ascend the throne.”

“There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin, and no war so bloody as a war between dragons,” says Rhaenyra Targaryen. That pronouncement is followed by scenes of battle, and fighting between the mythological beasts.

HBO’s first look at the much-anticipated second season was accompanied by photos, two posters, and the announcement of new cast members Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. The network previously confirmed Abubakar Salim is on board to play Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin will play Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox is Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale joins as Ser Simon Strong.

Returning House of the Dragon cast members include Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen, and Steve Toussaint Lord Coryls Velaryon. Fabien Frankel plays Ser Criston Cole, Ewan Mitchell is Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney is Aegon Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno is Mysaria, and Rhys Ifans is Otto Hightower.

Harry Collett plays Jacaerys Velaryon, Bethany Antonia is Baela Targaryen, Phoebe Campbell is Rhaena Targaryen, Phia Saban is Helaena Targaryen, Jefferson Hall is Lord Jason Lannister, and Matthew Needham is Larys Strong.

The series is set 200 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on House Targaryen. Author George R.R. Martin co-created the series and serves as executive producer. Co-creator Ryan Condal executive produces and is the showrunner. Additional executive producers include Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis.
