Critics Choice Awards winner Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) stars as a con artist on the run in Apple TV’s Lucky, based on the bestseller by Marissa Stapley. The streamer’s official trailer shows the titular character (Taylor-Joy) being reminded by her dad that he passed on skills to help her survive. But the action-packed trailer confirms that won’t be easy after a betrayal and a heist gone wrong.
Annette Bening (Dutton Ranch) stars as Lucky’s mother-in-law and Timothy Olyphant (Alien: Earth) plays her father. The limited series also stars Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner.

“When a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways, con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy) is forced to go on the run,” reads Apple TV’s synopsis. “Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life—and a way out.”
Apple TV will release the first two episodes on July 15, followed by new episodes on Wednesdays.
Jonathan Tropper created the series and serves as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner. Co-showrunner Cassie Pappas also executive produces along with Anya Taylor-Joy, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, and Jonathan van Tulleken (episode one’s director). The series is produced by Apple Studios and Hello Sunshine.
