Two-time Oscar nominee John Travolta makes his directorial debut with Propeller One-Way Night Coach, based on his 1977 children’s book. Travolta, a lifelong aviation enthusiast, adapted his book and narrates the film, which features his daughter Ella Bleu as a flight attendant.
The family-friendly film also stars newcomer Clark Shotwell, Kelly Eviston-Quinnett, and Olga Hoffmann. Travolta, Jason Berger, and Amy Laslett are the producers.
Apple Original Films offers this synopsis:
“Set in the golden age of aviation, a young airplane enthusiast, Jeff (Shotwell), and his mother (Eviston-Quinnett) set off on a one-way cross-country odyssey to Hollywood, which transforms a simple flight into the trip of a lifetime. Between airline meals, charming flight attendants (Ella Bleu Travolta and Hoffmann), unexpected stopovers, larger-than-life passengers, and a thrilling glimpse at first class, the journey unfolds in moments both magical and unexpected, charting the course for the boy’s future.”
Travolta’s directorial debut will premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, followed by a streaming release on Apple TV on May 29, 2026.
