Prime Video’s Elle teaser introduces a teenage version of Reese Witherspoon’s Legally Blonde character, picking up her story as Elle makes a life-jarring move to Seattle. The minute-and-a-half teaser arrived along with a couple of stills from the upcoming first season.
Lexi Minetree stars as Elle Woods, June Diane Raphael plays Elle’s mother Eva, and Tom Everett Scott is her father Wyatt. Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, and Amy Pietz also star.
Jessica Belkin, Danielle Chand, Matt Oberg, Chloe Wepper, Logan Shroyer, Sharon Taylor, David Burtka, Brad Harder, Kayla Maisonet, Lisa Yamada, and James Van Der Beek appear in recurring roles.

“Season one of Elle follows Elle Woods before she was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard. We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices,” reads Prime Video’s synopsis. “Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today.”
Legally Blonde opened in theaters in July 2001, followed by Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde in July 2003. Elle will premiere on July 1, 2026 on Prime Video. The streamer’s already announced the series has been renewed for season two.
Laura Kittrell (Insecure) created the prequel and is a co-showrunner with Caroline Dries. Executive producers include Kittrell, Dries, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Amanda Brown, Marc Platt, and Jason Moore. Moore directs the first two episodes, and Bryan J. Raber and Asmita Paranjape are the producers.
