Lioness star Nicole Kidman’s added another Paramount+ series to her schedule, with the streamer giving the legal thriller Discretion a straight to series order. Oscar winner Kidman and Emmy nominee Elle Fanning (The Great) are on board to star as well as executive produce the drama, based on bestselling author Chandler Baker’s short story.
Paramount+ offers this description of the series: “Discretion is a legal thriller about a summer associate Lenny (Fanning) at a prestigious Dallas law firm who uncovers a web of NDAs masking a dark truth. When she realizes she signed the same agreement, her discoveries put her in the crosshairs of the firm’s most powerful female partner Sharon (Kidman)—upending their mentor-protégé dynamic and raising the question: who gets to keep secrets, and at what cost?”
Author Chandler Baker is adapting her short story and will executive produce. Additional executive producers include Susannah Grant, Per Saari, Brittany Kahan Ward, Joe Hipps, and Jordan Cerf. Filming is expected to take place on the eight-episode series in 2026.
Nicole Kidman’s recent credits include Nine Perfect Strangers, The Perfect Couple, Holland, Babygirl, and Being the Ricardos. Elle Fanning was recently seen in A Complete Unknown, The Girl From Plainville, and All the Bright Places.
