Netflix’s teaser trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein was narrated by Victor Frankenstein from his perspective. The official trailer switches that up, allowing the Creature to tell his story. “My maker told his tale. And I will tell you mine,” says Jacob Elordi (Saltburn) as the Creature.
The trailer continues with the Creature revealing he sees the memories of many different men whose bodies were used by Victor to piece him together. He seeks his maker, saying, “I demand a single grace from you. If you are not to award me love, then I will indulge in rage.” The two-minute trailer ends with the Creature advising his maker, the real monster, to run.
Oscar Isaac (Dune) stars as Dr. Victor Frankenstein and Mia Goth (the X trilogy) plays Elizabeth Lavenza. Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher), David Bradley (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), and Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) also star.
“Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
Guillermo del Toro adapted Mary Shelley’s classic horror novel, directs, and serves as a producer. Additional producers include J. Miles Dale and Scott Stuber.
Frankenstein opens in select theaters on October 17, 2025 followed by a release on Netflix on November 7.
