Prime Video’s set a May 29, 2025 premiere date for The Better Sister starring and executive produced by Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks. The streamer also released the first photos from the eight-episode limited series based on Alafair Burke’s bestselling novel.
Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks lead the cast as Chloe Taylor and Nicky Macintosh, respectively. Corey Stoll plays Adam Macintosh, Kim Dickens is Detective Nancy Guidry, Maxwell Acee Donovan is Ethan Macintosh, and Bobby Naderi plays Detective Matt Bowen. Gabriel Sloyer stars as Jake Rodriguez, Gloria Reuben is Michelle Sanders, Matthew Modine is Bill Braddock, and Lorraine Toussaint plays Catherine Lancaster.

“Chloe (Biel), a high-profile media executive, lives a picturesque life with her handsome lawyer husband Adam (Stoll) and teenage son Ethan (Acee Donovan) by her side while her estranged sister Nicky (Banks) struggles to make ends meet and stay clean,” reads Prime Video’s synopsis. “When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, reuniting the two sisters as they try to untangle a complicated family history to discover the truth behind his death.”
Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado guide the series as showrunners and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Biel, Banks, Michelle Purple, Kerry Orent, and Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and Alissa Bachner. Fortunate Jack Productions’ Craig Gillespie and Annie Marter also executive produce, with Gillespie directing.
The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Tomorrow Studios (part of ITV Studios).
