Discovery Channel’s June 2024 lineup includes the premiere of the 20th season of Deadliest Catch on June 11th, along with a new season of Hoffman Family Gold on June 14th. The four-part documentary series Six Schizophrenic Brothers premieres on June 10th at 8pm ET/PT, and the Vegas-set series Sin City Tow arrives on June 18th.
Discovery released the following descriptions of June’s new and returning shows:
Six Schizophrenic Brothers – An all-American family is torn apart when six of 12 siblings develop schizophrenia. Don and Mimi Galvin dream of raising their picture-perfect family on Hidden Valley Road in Colorado Springs until their eldest son, Donald, begins to act strangely. What starts as a rivalry between his younger siblings develops into a series of bizarre rituals and extreme violence. But as more brothers follow in Donald’s footsteps, it becomes clear that something much larger is happening.
With unprecedented access and exclusive interviews with the Galvin family, the series explores this terrifying and heart-wrenching true story that made its way into medical history.
Deadliest Catch – To kick off this milestone 20th season, the lucrative Red King Crab fishery has finally reopened in Alaska, igniting the first derby-style race in decades. Forced to obtain their crab hauls in a highly competitive timeframe, veteran and rookie captains are thrust into cutthroat rivalries that will push each crabber to their limit.
Meanwhile, the crab grounds become more perilous than ever as a rare super El Niño weather pattern intensifies winter storms, serving as a grim reminder to why Alaska crab fishing is known as the Deadliest Catch.
Hoffman Family Gold – As three generations of Todd Hoffman’s family arrive in Alaska to mine the most promising claim they’ve ever held, tensions rise when Todd’s father, Jack, announces his final season. With winter fast approaching, the Hoffman crew must devise a plan to triple their output and mine 3000 ounces before the ground freezes over, putting their legacy and livelihood on the line.
Sin City Tow – 40 million people come to Las Vegas every year to gamble, party and go crazy. They forget all their inhibitions, often park their car where it’s not supposed to be. Sin City’s tow truck drivers come in to clean up the mess and rake in the money. Every tow is an opportunity for a payday but could also turn into a face-off with an angry, desperate owner who’s ready to do whatever it takes to get their car back.
