Disney+ and Lucasfilm report that Ahsoka, the newest addition to the Star Wars franchise, premiered to impressive numbers. The first episode, “Part One: Master and Apprentice,” racked up 14 million views and was the most-watched title on the streaming service in the week following its August 22, 2023 debut.
Rosario Dawson stars in the titular role, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead starring as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson (who passed away on May 21, 2023) playing Baylan Skoll, and Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati. The cast also includes Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger.
“Ahsoka has become a fan favorite with people of all ages, and it’s wonderful to see her continue to resonate with viewers in her very own headlining series,” said Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, commenting on the series’ performance. “I want to recognize the fantastic work done by our creative team, led by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the incredible cast led by Rosario Dawson, and our talented crew — and on behalf of the team and all of Lucasfilm, we give our thanks to all the fans who have been with Ahsoka on every step of her journey and to all those who are just learning about her now in Ahsoka on Disney+.”
Season one episodes debut on Tuesdays on Disney+.
