The trailer for Apple TV’s Hijack season two shows Idris Elba + public transportation = chaos. Season one placed the action on a plane, while season two is more grounded, moving the crisis to a train.
The first season premiered in June 2023, and the eight-episode second season will debut on January 14, 2026. New episodes will stream on Wednesdays.
In addition to Idris Elba, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi return for the new season. New series stars include Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul.
“In the thrilling second season of Hijack, a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while above ground authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives,” reads Apple TV’s synopsis. “Sam Nelson (Elba) is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster.”
Lupin‘s George Kay and Criminal‘s Jim Field Smith created the series and executive produce. Additional executive producers include Idris Elba, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash. Field Smith is the series’ lead director.
