Prime Video’s 56 Days, based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s bestseller, will premiere on February 18, 2026 with the release of all eight episodes. The thriller was announced back in December 2023, with the working title of Obsession. Now that we’re months away from the launch date, Prime Video has confirmed they’re sticking with the 56 Days title.
Dove Cameron (the Descendants franchise) and Avan Jogia (Orphan Black: Echoes) star as Ciara Wyse and Oliver Kennedy. Karla Souza plays Lee Reardon and Dorian Missick plays Karl Connolly.
“56 Days follows Oliver and Ciara, who, after meeting randomly in a supermarket, fall for each other fast and dangerously hard,” reads Prime Video’s synopsis. “Fifty-six days later, homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find an unidentified body—brutally murdered and intentionally decomposed. Did he kill her? Did she kill him? Intercutting between an intense single day in the present investigation and the twisted trajectory of the young lovers’ affair in the past, the series is both a unique crime story and a riveting, sexy, psychological thriller.”
Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher adapted Catherine Ryan Howard’s novel for the series and serve as executive producers. Howard is involved as a co-executive producer. Additional executive producers include James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster.
