Lucasfilm debuted the official trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at the 2023 Star Wars Celebration in London, and then quickly brought the lengthy trailer online for fans to check out. The fifth film of the franchise marks Harrison Ford’s final outing as Indiana Jones, and the trailer teases the “legend will face his destiny.”
Joining Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory), John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark), Shaunette Renee Wilson (Black Panther), and Thomas Kretschmann (Das Boot). Additional stars include Toby Jones (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Oliver Richters (Black Widow), Ethann Isidore (Mortel), and Mads Mikkelsen (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore).
The fifth film of the franchise will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival followed by a wide theatrical release on June 30, 2023.
James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari, Logan) co-wrote the screenplay and directs. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel serve as producers, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas executive producing.
John Williams returns to compose the score. Williams’ association with the Indiana Jones franchise began with the first film of the series, Raiders of the Lost Ark, back in 1981 and continued with 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
In addition to releasing the official trailer, Lucasfilm unveiled a new poster and photos.
