Netflix’s fourth and, unfortunately, final season of The Umbrella Academy just added three new cast members. Nick Offerman, recently seen in the best episode of The Last of Us season one, and Megan Mullally (the new season of Party Down) have signed on to season four along with David Cross (Arrested Development).
The announcement included details on who the three new cast members are playing:
- Real-life married couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally will play DRS. GENE & JEAN THIBEDEAU, a married pair of community college professors from New Mexico who wear sensible footwear and suffer from the most extreme case of deja vu this timeline has ever seen.
- David Cross will play SY GROSSMAN, an upstanding, shy business owner and family man desperate to reconnect with his estranged daughter, who will stop at nothing to get her back.
Season four is currently in production in Toronto.
Elliot Page stars as Viktor Hargreeves, Tom Hopper is Luther Hargreeves, David Castañeda is Diego Hargreeves, Robert Sheehan is Klaus Hargreeves, Aidan Gallagher is Number Five, and Emmy Raver-Lampman is Allison Hargreeves. Justin H. Min plays Ben Hargreeves, Colm Feore is Reginald Hargreeves, and Ritu Arya is Lila Pitts.
“I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey we began five years ago. But before we get to that conclusion, we’ve got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes,” said series creator, writer, director, and showrunner Steve Blackman.
Jesse McKeown, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Scott Stuber, and Beau Bauman serve as executive producers. Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá are co-executive producers.
